Our classes take place at accessible community venues in Cambridgeshire and are based on a six week programme.
Our “Tots” and “Minis” age groups develop their skills through a mixture of free play and circuits when they arrive, followed by a structured coach-led session which encourages them to experiment with how their body moves and what they can do with it, with particular focus on developing agility, balance and coordination.
Once children reach the “Kids” age group we then move on to including skills, drills and friendly competition. They focus on further development of their physical “ABCs” (Agility, Balance and Co-ordination) but they are also encouraged to work independently in small groups in addition to coach-led and fed activities.
And as well as our general session we also offer our “Girls Club”. These sessions are specifically tailored and use teaching techniques that aim to keep girls believing that there is and always will be a home for them on the playing field and in sports activities as a whole.
Whatever the session they are attending in our encouraging, inclusive and fun environment children take part in activities and games based around tennis skills.
We currently offer:
A 30 minute session for children aged 2-4 to attend with their grown-ups
A 30 minute session for children aged 3-5
A 45 minute session for children in Primary School (Ages 6-11)
A 45 minute session for girls in School Years 3-7 (Ages 7-12) which is specifically designed to get more girls playing sport and enjoying the many benefits it offers outside of school
Our half day holiday camps run on various dates during the school holidays. Children are encouraged to learn tennis skills through activities, games and competition and all come away at the end of the day with a medal and certificate for attendance. The holiday camps are designed for everyone whether they have picked up a racket before or not. So why not unleash your inner Andy Murray and Emma Radacanu and give one a go.
