Here at Hot Shots we have gathered together a team who have a real passion for sport and getting as many people playing it as possible.
On top of that you can be assured your children will be safe in our hands as all of our Hot Shots instructors are accredited with their relevant sports national governing body, DBS checked and hold a current First Aid certificate.
The Coaches

GEMMA STEVENSON Instructor
LTA Accredited Coach
Gemma grew up playing lots of sport – tennis, swimming, hockey, cheerleading; you name it she tried it. Through sport she has been able to compete for her country in cheerleading, becoming an ICU World Champion with Team England Para Hip-Hop in 2019. Whilst she left competitive cheerleading behind after winning that title, Gemma didn’t completely give up on elite level sport and now competes on the ITF tennis tour in the women’s open division.
But competing in sport isn’t the only string Gemma has to her bow.
She is an LTA accredited coach who has nearly two decades worth of experience teaching in various settings including coaching players at club level and delivering sports and dance in primary, secondary and SEN schools as well as alternative provision and holiday camps.
And when she’s not doing that well you may have heard her talking sport as the main presenter of BBC Cambridgeshire’s Total Sport programme on Saturdays or analysing and commentating on tennis, from major sporting events like the Grand Slams and Paralympics on various traditional and digital platforms – including the BBC, Sky Sports and Channel 5
Gemma has a passion for creating a level playing field in sport and uses her experiences as an athlete, coach and broadcaster to highlight the opportunities taking part in grassroots sport can open up to you when she speaks and delivers talks and workshops at conferences and universities.
The Admin Team
MATTHEW BRISTON The Numbers Guy
Matthew grew up in Cambridgeshire and would be the first to say sport wasn’t his favourite subject at school.
He has however tried to brush up on his tennis skill by taking some introductory lessons.
Spending time with Gemma developing Hot Shots has also increased his knowledge and seen him really want to increase inclusive sports opportunities in the county.
Here at Hot Shots though you’ll mostly see him crunching the numbers and helping find ways to keep sessions affordable for everyone – although he might leave his office and join us at sessions sometimes to come and say hello.

Our Ambassador

RACHEL MORGAN Hot Shots Ambassador
Hi everyone! I’m Rachel
I’m a two-time World Champion and three-time British Champion in the B1 classification of visually impaired (VI) tennis.
I love sport because it allows you to make friends and enjoy being active together. It can be a great way to learn new skills too!
I’m passionate about inclusive sport too because having a disability at the more severe end myself means that in day-to-day life things can be much harder and more tiring than doing the same tasks as sighted people. But when I play tennis it feels amazing to have the freedom of the court to fly around and get a good workout with all of my friends.
To me inclusivity means that you can fold your cane up and play your best on the tennis court against anyone, regardless of whether they have a disability or not.
