Creating inclusive sporting opportunities for children and young people
Hot Shots is an inclusive sports organisation based in Cambridgeshire who believe in creating a level playing field when it comes to playing sport so no child is left watching from the sidelines.
We truly believe in a fully inclusive arena when it comes to the future of sport at grassroots level and so we have created the Hot Shots programme with this in mind.
It is our belief inclusion should be part of everyone’s practice from day one and with our programme we aim to show that making that a reality is as easy as learning your physical “ABCs”
What We Do
- DEVELOP THE HOT SHOTS PROGRAMME: Specialist inclusive multi-sport programmes for children and young people, which put fun, encouragement and allowing every child to gain physical literacy skills at the heart of them.
- WORK: with schools, nurseries and alternative education settings to help drive and improve inclusive PE practice in education by delivering the Hot Shots programme
- LAUNCH and LEAD: community pop-up workshops and classes in local, accessible venues so children and young people can access the Hot Shots programme in their communities.
- CREATE: an online platform with “at home” classes so those that cannot access our in-person workshops and classes for whatever reason have an alternative way to take part
- WORK AND COLLABORATE WITH: other sports clubs and organisations, advising them of ways they can adapt their practice and facilities to open up sport to more people
- RESEARCH: into the barriers that stop children and young people engaging in sport so our practice is well-informed
Our Beliefs
At Hot Shots we believe that every child should have a chance to be involved in sport at whatever level they choose to..
Our programme and syllabus has been based around our ethos that the experiences we create through our classes should be child-centred, fun, inclusive and create a lifelong love of being active
So as a result when designing sessions we have combined our extensive experience of working with young people and our knowledge of the various ways in which children learn with feedback from the age groups we teach and their grown-ups.
In other words here at Hot Shots everyone is invited and feels part of the team when on the field of play.
